Janet Friend

Janet Friend serves on the Board for PCAC as advisor of the medical team. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her father served as a gunner and chef in the United States Air Force, while her mother held a top executive position at IBM. The family eventually settled in Denver, Colorado, where her father retired from the Air Force. Janet’s educational journey began at a private school during her early years. 

After her family relocated to Los Angeles, California, she attended public high school. She graduated in the top 5% of her senior class and earned a college degree in Audio Engineering from Arizona State University and California State University, Dominguez Hills, in 1985. During her last semester at CSUDH, she met her husband, Rodney Friend. They are proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Jane’y and Rone’y. 

Janet entered the medical field in 2005, working for over ten years as a nurse in plastic surgery. However, her current career as a college professor has proven to be the most rewarding. Her passion for knowledge and teaching resonates deeply with her students.
