Our Mission
Pastoral Care Associates of California (PCAC) is dedicated to educating, equipping, and empowering individuals to serve as chaplains who provide compassionate emotional and spiritual support in healthcare and community settings.
Chaplaincy is a ministry of hope that transcends cultural and community boundaries. It is a service-oriented calling that addresses the needs of individuals facing life-changing challenges.
At PCAC, we offer holistic care, partnering with individuals, families, patients, and healthcare staff to support emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
GOALS
Our primary goal is to integrate Pastoral Spiritual Care as an essential component of the healthcare system. We aim to:
- Provide a comprehensive understanding of the chaplaincy ministry and its unique role beyond traditional church structures.
- Develop skills in spiritual care, active listening, and empathetic communication to meet the needs of those we serve.
- Empower chaplains to approach their work as a ministry appointment, offering ethical and compassionate care in diverse healthcare settings.
WHAT WE DO
Through our training programs, we prepare chaplains to provide effective spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and healthcare teams. Our emphasis on active listening, empathic communication, and ethical decision-making equips chaplains to foster healing, hope, and resilience in those they serve.
